Panelists

Ryan Kieta, RLA is a registered landscape architect, urban designer, real estate development consultant, educator, and community planner who works with public and private groups to develop strategic revitalization strategies, economic development initiatives, and community master plans for business districts, cultural areas, recreation facilities, and residential neighborhoods.

Patricia DeMarco, Ph.D. holds a doctorate in biology and has devoted her 30-year career to energy and environmental policy. She recently authored Pathways to Our Sustainable Future – A Global Perspective from Pittsburgh and hosts the radio show The New American Economy to help people visualize a new economy that is just, socially equitable, and environmentally sustainable.

Preston Shimer, MBA recently served as the Interim Executive Director for the Local Government Academy and is a member of their Board of Directors. He is also the Treasurer of the League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh. He recently retired from an extensive career in records and information management and has a keen interest in the environment and local efforts to promote sustainability and regional planning.
