Barbara Litt wrote an excellent letter to the editor (LTE) entitled, “Pa. lawmakers must reject expanded fossil fuel production,” that was published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on 9/11/17. Barbara writes,
“If you understand the science, which is not in dispute, you shouldn’t be both pro-fossil fuel development and pro-Paris Agreement.”
Her LTE brings into the public forum a necessary debate about whether we collectively support the Paris Climate Agreement OR the Shell Petrochemical Plant (and related fracking/petro infrastructure). Politicians can’t publicly support both and expect to get both– and they must be called out on this. This topic was highlighted with extensive references in an earlier NoPetroPA blog post here.
